Genealogy

The Du Quoin Public Library houses a unique collection of local, state, and national genealogical sources.  This collection is housed in southeast corner of the library.  Items from the collection do not circulate without special permission.  Materials from the collection may be copied if doing so will not damage the original document or text.  All copies are $.25 per page. Mail, phone, and email requests for specific information can be accommodated.  All mailed requests will include an invoice seeking reimbursement for the cost of copies plus postage.                                                    

The Genevieve Rainey Genealogical Collection

Featuring a comprehensive 25,000 card index of early Du Quoin Family Surnames 1800.  Information can include birth dates, death dates, and familial relationships.  Sources for provided information are documented on each card.
